Bryan Valles grew up along the sun-soaked beaches of Southern California, where the ocean, the sky, and long afternoons in hisbackyard pool shaped his earliest sense of beauty. Whether diving beneath the surface or watching sunlight ripple across the water, he became attuned to how light moved, how color shifted, and how everything was connected through rhythm and reflection. That mix of beach life and backyard stillness laid the foundation for a visual language rooted in movement, memory, and the deep, quiet pull of water and light.
At home, another influence quietly guided his eye: his mother. Her gardens were lush and alive, full of intention and beauty. She had a rare ability to make any space feel peaceful and designed, and that artistry—blended with the wild beauty of his coastal surroundings—formed the creative foundation Bryan still draws from today.
After serving 12 years in both the Army and the Air Force and traveling across the globe, Bryan returned to a new chapter—fatherhood. The arrival of his first daughter, Victoria, brought with it a deep desire to capture life as it unfolded. That moment led him to art school in his mid-thirties, where he was fortunate to study under a group of remarkable teachers and mentors who pushed him to see more, to dig deeper, and to trust his own vision. Their guidance helped refine a visual voice already shaped by decades of light, movement, and lived experience.
Today, his work reflects that full arc: from the sun-soaked beaches of his youth to the sacred stillness he now finds in everyday moments with his daughters. His work isn't just about capturing a scene—it’s a visual expression of an ongoing journey toward further light. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, to feel, and to recognize the presence of something deeper—often just beneath the surface. More than art, his vision reflects the boundless energy of the Great Architect of the Universe, connecting us to the quiet currents that move through all things.
To my two greatest creations, Victoria & Elizabeth—I love you.
